Control your home theater video sources like Blu-Ray players, DVD players, TIVO, video receivers, and anything else that uses a standard IR remote control through walls and other obstructions by extending the IR signal wirelessly with this kit.

Want to send your IR signal to more than one Emitter? Purchase additional Emitters. Or do you want to send multiple IR signals to one Emitter? Purchase additional Receivers.

The Wireless Difference

The BlastIR Wireless does everything you want it to. Simplicity is our main focus with the BlastIR Wireless. Simply power them up and place the receiver next to your TV where you will point your remote. Place the emitter next to your equipment, pointed at the IR "eyes" of the device(s). The only thing left to do is enjoy, it is that simple. Below we have a video demonstrating the simplicty of this product and how to set it up.

Extend Remote Control Signals

Ir Guide

The BlastIR is designed to get your remote control's signal to where it needs to go. Since remote control signals (IR) need "line-of-sight" to work, you will need this extender if the equipment you're trying to control is not in sight. You'll need to extend your IR signals, especially if your TV is wall-mounted.

Sewell's IR extender kits provide all the parts you need in one convenient package to send an IR signal from the comfort of your couch to wherever you store your equipment.

How This Works

This kit includes an IR receiver, an IR emitter, and optional IR cables. The IR receiver and IR receiver cables are small inconspicuous devices that you can mount on your HDTV's bezel or anywhere else in the room where you will want to point your remote. They are small and very easy to hide, but must be in line-of-site to your couch (or wherever you will be sitting when using your remote control). These receivers receive your remote control's commands and sends the signal wirelessly to the IR emitter, which emits the signal to your devices.

BlastIR Wireless Diagram

The IR emitter half of this kit is simply placed in front of your equipment so that the signal is sent direct to your device. An IR emitter cable is included. This emitter blasts out the same IR signal, and you can tape it directly to your equipment or simply fix it to a nearby shelf or wall (or even the back of the door of your video closet).

If you're having trouble with your BlastIR Wireless, there are some simple things you can do to troubleshoot the problem. This article will walk you through the steps. Even though we use a BlastIR classic, the same techniques apply.

NOTE: The BlastIR Wireless has a history of incompatibility with the Cisco Explorer cable boxes, particularly the 4000 and 8000 series.

Need more emitters?

Pros: Works exactly as advertised. I have a tv that hangs above the fireplace on our stone. Easily plug the unit that connects to the tv behind it and hide the unit behind the tv and use the cord provided and run to the front of the tv. The other unit is is the closet a good ten feet away and with cord attached to the box's sensors and with the closet door shut, it works great. Just aim the remote at he tv and presto, works as if the cable box was right in from of you. Everyhing was included even the two sided tape already attached to the sensors to easily attach to the tv and cable box.

Cons: Absolutely nothing

Pros: Reliable solution for IR remote's limited range

Other: Initially I bought a competing product that was simply an IR repeater. That product did not work well for our situation, because I'm trying to control projectors approximately 30 feet away. The range limit of an IR remote control appears to be around 30 feet. So repeating a weak signal doesn't help much. After the inital purchase and disappointing result, I purchased this product. We are able to place the reciever very near where we use the remotes, and we placed the transmitter near the projectors. We haven't had the product very long yet, but thus far performance has been excellent.

Great Product!

Devices are small and easy to conceal. Cabinet space for my electronics was small so I adhered the transmitter to the rear of the my entertainment center and ran the wired transmitters to the front of the cabinet securing the wires with clear tape. Can't notice them at all. Plus, now I can shut the door and cover up all of my gear!

Great for all-in-one remote

- 10/3/2017 11:21:45 AM

Most of the equipment in my home theater stack comes with RF remotes, which are really nice because they don't require line-of-site, but I don't want to keep track of that many remotes and constantly switch back and forth. Unfortunately it seems all all-in-one remotes (well, at least the ones I could find in my price range) use IR instead, meaning you need line-of-site to your Tivo, AppleTV, Roku, Cable box, etc.. Enter the BlastIR wireless - it was easy to install with helpful color coding to make the whole process fool-proof.
