Get more out of your USB devices with the U-Link USB 2.0 over Cat5e/Cat6 extender. USB specifications limit the maximum distance of USB cable to only 15 feet. With the U-Link, you can use inexpensive Cat5e or Cat6 cable to extend your USB devices to distances up to 200 feet, while still supporting full USB 2.0 high speed connections. Learn more about USB 2.0 over cat5/cat6 extenders.
Get More Distance
USB only extends 15 feet, while that seems like a fair distance, it ends up being limiting in certain applications. There is a wide range of applications for the U-Link like setting up an inexpensive security system using USB cameras, connecting to scanners or printers in another room, or industry specific applications such as medical diagnostics and imaging, conference rooms, and digital signage.
Many USB over Cat5e/Cat6 extenders draw power from the computer through the USB cable. The problem with this setup is that you could experience a drop in voltage making some devices impossible to extend. The U-Link has its own power source with 4 separate ports that gives you the most flexibility out of any USB extender.
Note: Receiver side must be powered.
Installation is easy. Simply connect the included power adapter and the included USB 2.0 cable to the host computer unit. Then connect the sender unit to the receiver unit using any cat5e/cat6 cable (sold separately). The U-Link can then be used with any four USB devices.

Getting the Most out of your Extender
Since Cat5e/Cat6 extenders (aka Baluns) don't work the same way as typical ethernet networks, the quality of your network cable makes a huge difference in your setup. The bottom line is that Ethernet networks have corrective measures in place to help balance the data load and prevent packet loss, while point-to-point extenders like this don't have this option. For this reason, using cable with extra shielding and extra-robust conductors (like our SSTP Cat6 cables made for extenders) to overcome any potential attenuation issues is recommended.
