Highest strand count
Deadbolt speaker wire was developed with the highest quality standards in mind. Most 12 AWG speaker cables use 90 to 100 threads of copper, we’ve put 259 strands into each conductor of our Deadbolt cable. This allows for less distortion, deeper bass, better imaging, and cleaner highs from your sound system.
Pure, oxygen-free copper
Not only does Deadbolt speaker wire have a higher strand count, it is also made up of pure, oxygen-free copper. Cheaper speaker cables have other alloys mixed with the copper in the conductors. This makes the cable cheaper, but also reduces the quality of the sound. Air pockets in the copper can also reduce sound quality and can even ruin the cable over time.

Jon B Apparently, European regulations prohibit the use of this type of connector on speakers. I bought the wires before my speakers arrived, so I had to cut off one end. Don't assume these connectors will work with all speakers. Also, the Deadbolt banana plugs used on this wire are different from the ones sold separately. I tried to swap out the gold tips with some other (angled) Deadbolts that I had, and the thread was a different size. It's not a defect, you just can't do that.

MARK AHLHEIM These plugs arrived promptly, but when I opened the package they came in and plugged them into my vintage receiver and speakers, I had no sound and after some investigation, I could see that the ends of the wires needed adjustment and tightening. I thought, Really? What kind of quality must these be if they are already coming apart after a simple direct shipment to my home. I spent even more time adjusting until I got the sound I was expecting, but now I am nervous that these plugs will not serve me well in the long-run and I figure within a couple years I will have to replace them. With literally at least a handful of banana plugs to pick from, it appears I made a poor choice.

John McQuaid Unscrewed and then rescrewed connectors back together and then cable worked.
So moved connectors around twisting wire different directions and hooked back up and wire wasn't working again. Took apart connectors apart again and it seems like there isn't enough solder protruding from wire to make a constant connection to the screwed on banana plug when tightening down.
