Description

FastLynx 3.3 is a program designed to help you transfer files, directories, or entire hard disks quickly and easily from PC to PC. The simple split-screen interface makes copying and moving files as easy as dragging and dropping. Best of all, FastLynx can transfer files through your USB, parallel, or serial ports and over the Internet using TCP/IP. FastLynx even lets you perform DOS-to-Windows and Linux-to-Windows transfers.


FastLynx is an older file transfer program that has been tested on Windows up through version 7. It may not work on Windows 10 and later. 

FastLynx can also be used to transfer between different directories on the same computer. It is also used to update or synchronize a set of files or directories that exist in more than one place. In addition to these file transfer capabilities, FastLynx also provides valuable file management functions such as the ability to rename or delete files.

Perfect for vintage computer enthusiasts

Enables remote file transfer and file management of vintage DOS machines from modern OS. It has some slightly retro charm of its own on the modern OS side but it is capable and ultimately the best of all adoptions.

Still working from Windows 11 to DOS 5!

I'm using the software in combination with a short PL2303 based USB to Serial cable, between a Windows 11 x64 laptop and a Book8088. The driver for Sewell's own cable does not seem to install, but with this table (manually set to COM1 in device manager) it works brilliantly - it even managed to send the DOS stub over the cable. You may need to set a lower speed for your transfer - with the Book8089 I find 38,400 baud to be reliable.

I have always problems using named pipe. The handbook does not shed much light on this facility. I find it difficult to synchronize more than 2 PCs.
Windows sometime gets updated and then sometimes fastlink does not work anymore. We are mainly using W10 abd 11 Home editions.

Unfortunately, we have recently learned that FastLynx is not compatible with Windows 11. That's likely causing some problems for you. More testing is happening to confirm the compatibility with other update versions.
