Wii to HDMI Converter
Convert the standard Wii output into an HDMI 1.3 compatible format for audio and video to be carried over one cable.
How this works
The Wii to HDMI adapter plugs directly into your Wii's cable port (the same port you use to connect the Wii video cable that is included with the Wii). After you have plugged it into this port, you will have an available HDMI port.
This adapter creates a super-accurate, rich and vibrant 480p reproduction of your Wii's video signal. For the best performance, make sure your Wii's video output setting is switched to 480p (also called "Enhanced Definition" in your Wii Resolution settings). This will double the average refresh rate of your pixels and deepen the colors.
The Wii to HDMI adapter includes an audio break-out port that allows you to send stereo audio to another audio device of your choice (like an audio receiver). The port is in the form of 3.5mm stereo port.
Handles Both Audio and Video through HDMI Too
Since HDMI is an audio/video signal, this device rises to the task and handles both through the HDMI port. This conveniently allows you to run a single cable to your TV unless you wish to break the audio out separately using the adapter's break-out 3.5mm port.
Mfg. Part Number
- Converts the Wii AV port to an HDMI port
- Includes additional 3.5mm stereo audio output
- Small Size
All works as desired, just a couple quirks:
* The clearance between the HDMI port and the audio out is very tight. You'll need an audio cable with a very small connector to fit well.
* Gamecube games don't produce audio on the HDMI output, only on the separate audio out. Wii games run over both. So if you have a GC-compatible wii you'll have to always use the audio out.
Does what you need! Video looks great! (Must switch your Wii output to 480p). Very little lag. Carries audio on the HDMI (the separate Jack is optional). Review written only after a few weeks of use, but enjoying so far.
It works great, and is a noticeable improvement over composite video. Much less blurry colors. The image looks good, and I haven't had any issues with black bars or interference other reviewers mention. It streams audio over the HDMI cable, which works very well with the rest of my setup - audio switches automatically when I pick the Wii video source.
I have tried it a couple times now and it isn't working at all.

We are very happy with the converter you sold us. It works perfectly and it's fun to have the wii system to play again on a new tv.
