BNC (Bayonet Neill-Concelman) connectors were designed as a quick connect/disconnect RF connector for coaxial cable. The name comes from the type of connector and the people that invented it. It features two bayonet lugs on the female connector. This connection type makes it quick and easy to connect or disconnect; connecting the cable is achieved with only a quarter turn of the coupling nut. These connectors are most commonly used on communications radios and security cameras and monitors.
These connectors are by far easier to manage due to the unique one piece design making it a breeze to crimp.
Pros: These connectors create a nice tight stable connection. I do not worry about these connectors coming loose after being crimped on.Cons: I am not aware of any cons at this time.Other:
Pros: Well madeCons: No instructions informing what length to strip and length of copper core...no spec sheet supplied. Although well made, it is up to end user to take time to figure out stripping dimensions for coax. Other: Because no spec sheet included we switched to different brand with exact lengths and even diagram on the packaging. No guess work, no waste...each connector a perfect install.
Terribly sorry about the trouble that you had with those. The termination guide is on the product page for those connectors on our site, an in our Learning Center. If you would like to set up your existing plugs for a return or an exchange let me know.
Pros: Solid feel. Pretty easy to stuff onto the end of the coax cable.Cons: Unique design with extra Teflon insert around the center pin does not work with my Klein compression tool. Unfortunately the ratcheting crimp tool recommended by this website looks like a complete disaster.Other: Stuck trying to decide whether to throw these away and spend another $1 each for Klein tips, or chance another $30 for a new freaky looking compression tool that may or may not work either. Decisions, decisions !
The compression tool that we carry works just fine with the compression heads that we carry, without that tool you may have some trouble terminating those.
These things are great. The springy part that creates tension is heavy enough gauge or good enough metal that it takes some force to push them in. Some other plugs (looking at you, Monoprice) are basically brass-plated tinfoil and fall out.

Great speakers cable. Been using Silverback wire for years.
I bought banana plugs from a different brand online and was disappointed to find that they wouldn't fit into my A/V receiver, even with a lot of force. Many online reviews noted that they were hard to insert. Some people suggested crimping the tips with pliers, and a few even suggested tapping them lightly with a small hammer. No thanks. I returned them and ordered plugs from Sewell. They fit snugly but without using much force and they appear to be of higher quality than the others. I highly recommend Sewell.
