If you are extending your Remote Control signals and starting from scratch, we recommend the entire IR extension kit with Wall Plate receiver (SW-29309). It includes all of the parts you need to extend at least 4 remote controlled devices.

Extend your remote controls' signals discreetly with the in-wall IR receiver wall plate. This wall plate is used in conjunction with other emitters and kits to relay your remote controls' IR signals to Blu-ray players, TIVOs, and other devices that are probably hidden away.

Ir Guide

Since your remote controls rely on line-of-sight to control your equipment (it must be pointed directly at your equipment if you aren't using an extender) you won't be able to use them unless you can send this signal (known as infrared or IR) to your equipment with a wired extender. Especially in set-ups with wall-mounted HDTVs, IR receivers and emitter kits can be handy.

How This Works

This wall plate is just one piece of the puzzle, you will also need a connector block and IR emitters. Get this wall plate receiver if you already have the connector block and IR emitters that you need. If you are starting from square one, save time and money and just get the entire IR Receiver Kit in one package.

This wall plate IR receiver includes a connection terminal for you to hard-wire in your IR line (usually a 3.5mm mini stereo style cable). This cable runs from the wall plate to a connector block. The connector block connects the IR Emitters which run to your hidden media players (such as blu-ray, TIVO, Apple TV, and other devices you control with a remote). These devices and wires are typically hidden behind walls and run to closets where your devices are stored.
