To set up a professional looking, clean home theater (especially set-ups with wall-mounted HDTVs) you will usually want to move your Blu-Ray players, DVD players, TIVOs, and other video equipment out of sight. Since your remote controls rely on line-of-site communication to control your equipment, you won't be able to use them unless you can send this signal (known as infrared or IR) to your equipment with an extender.

How It Works
This kit includes an IR receiver, a connecting block (which also serves as a signal repeater), and IR emitters. The IR receiver is a standard sized wall plate that you can mount near the TV or anywhere else in the room where you will want to point your remote. It perfectly matches existing decor, and can be placed discretely. But remember, this will be the hub of all of your remote controlling airwaves, so make sure it is line-of-site to your couch (or wherever you will be sitting when using your remote control). This receiver receives your remote control's commands and sends the signal over 4 wire twisted pair (Cat3 or Cat5) to the connecting block and your equipment.
The connecting block actively repeats and forwards the signal through all IR emitters. This kit includes two dual emitters, allowing you to control four devices. Each eye blasts out the IR signal, you simply stick the flasher to your equipment or to an opposite facing wall (like the back of the door of your video closet for instance).
Set up of the IR Receiver Kit is quick and easy. With the receiver, install it near your TV (or where you would like to point your remote). Then run a phone or network cable to the connecting block. To finish up, plug the emitters into the connecting block and stick the emitters to your DVD player, stereo, DVR, or any other thing that you may have with a IR receiver on it. Voila!
