The VTBook uses one PC Card slot on your laptop, instantly adding a DVI-I port. The VT Book comes with a DVI to VGA converter as well, which converts the DVI port on the VTBook to a VGA port, allowing you to add a VGA display to your laptop instead of a DVI display. With the VTBook, the auxiliary video port on your laptop, the proprietary screen of your laptop, and included software drivers, you will have 3 displays total.
