lrm - Works Great
3/9/2009 7:15:57 PM
5 stars

Pros: VERY easy to set up.

Cons: None.

Other Comments: I do transcription and had a foot pedal that connected using the game port -- my new computer did not have a game port. The purchase of this adapter cable was definitely A LOT cheaper than having to get a new USB transcription pedal. It was incredibly easy to install and my pedal works just as perfectly as before!!

Anonymous - doesn't work

Pros: NONE

Cons: IT DOES NOT WORK!! I am running WIN XP and have no 15 pin or other game port on my computer. I got this adapter because there were several 'good' reviews and i am disappointed. The computer recognizes that the port is there but when I connect a controller to it, it does not work properly no matter which setting I use (PWS). The controller is for R/C Flight simulation.

Other Comments: Sewell Note: We are sorry that this did not work for you. These adatpers are not compatible with all game systems, especially those with force feedback features. If your device is incompatible you can return the adatper for a refund.

Joe - USB to Gameport Works Great

Pros: This adapter worked well with my V3 steering wheel in Windows Vista Home. The setup was very easy. I connected the wheel to the adapter before connecting it to the computer and windows automatically installed the drivers.

Cons: None -- The game worked equally well as using an internal game port.

Anonymous - It does 4-axes?

Pros: This worked with a two-button, two-axis generic joystick. Used it to run FS2002.

Cons: I added a home-made rudder/throttle/left-right-brake-button, which makes it a 4-axis, 4-button game controller. The combination works while plugged into the 15-pin game socket on my older PC. However the rudder, throttle, and two brake buttons are not recognized when calibrating in FS2002. The answer to question 6 for this item seemed to imply that it would work.

Other Comments: It is not worth the hassle and cost to return the item priced this low, but I would like to get this to work or find a product that does what the q.6 answer implied that this product would do. Open to suggestions from the tech people on this. I looked at the chip used in this unit and it SEEMS to have enough I/O lines to work, but the program is hidden, so I can't tell what the true capabilities are.
