This latest release of the Wireless
HDMI by Gefen is the best ever, featuring the use of 802.11n technology on the 5 GHz band, making it possible to go through multiple walls and major obstructions. With line-of-sight you still get a maximum 100 feet of wireless extension.
Quality and Performance
Gefen's new wireless HDMI solution is leaps and bounds past the older version. With the older version, line of site was required. With this version, you are not required to mount the units to a ceiling to avoid obstructions. The signal goes through multiple walls and great distances, basically giving you the same distance and line-of-site limitations you have with a solid wireless network using 802.11n technology.
Hi-def resolutions of 1080p at 30 fps and 1080i at 60 fps are easily achieved with this wireless extender, while also wirelessly delivering 5.1 digital audio. Its finally time to store all of your DVD players, set-top boxes, satellite receivers, Blu-Ray players, and other HDMI signal sources in a discreet closet and enjoy a clutter-free and install-free A/V wireless routing system with the GTV-WHDMI by Gefen.
Broadcast Mode: 5 Destinations
Gefen's wireless HDMI is the first wireless HDMI solution to offer broadcast mode. This allows you to use one transmitter unit and up to five receiver units, allowing you to transmit the same video signal to five different displays simultaneously like a wireless splitter. The main drawback in broadcast mode is that it does not support HDCP, where Unicast mode (one transmitter to one receiver) does support HDCP. Still, if you're planning on using this in conjunction with your computer's
DVI port for instance (where HDCP is not an issue), you will have an immediate wireless digital signage set-up.
How This Works
Set-up is easy and this kit comes with both a sender and a receiver unit. The sender unit sits near your HDMI sources. It offers one input, so you if you have multiple HDMI sources, an
HDMI switch may be required. The sender can send digital audio/video to up to five receivers. The receiver sits next to your HDTV and feeds the signal. Both sender and receiver require 5V DC power and both come with a wall adapter.
