  • My HP 4100n is not being detected properly on windows vista. How do I rectify this?
    • Often that just means you need to go to HP's website and download the latest driver for your printer.

  • Sir, I would like to ask for help, I need to have multiple parallel ports that will act lpt1, lpt2, lpt3, lpt4.
    • USB to Parallel adapters like this one install as USB Printing support, not as an LPT port. If you need true LPT ports you would need to add parallel ports to your computer internally. If you are using a desktop computer you could use a Parallel PCI Card, 2-port $19.95.

  • Will this work on a scanner that connects into a parallel port?
    • Scanners must be connected directly to a real parallel port. USB to Parallel cables only work with basic printers.

  • We have a Minolta PageWorks 20N laser printer that is about eleven years old, which we wish to continue to use because it can print on 11" x 17" paper. Do you foresee any compatibility issues between this printer and your USB to Parallel adapter?
    • No, it should work fine as long as it uses the 36-pin centronics connection (standard on most parallel printers). If you are unsure and you still have your original parallel printer cable, try using our USB to DB25 Parallel adapter, as it will mimic the parallel port found on the back of computers in order for you to attach your existing cable.

  • I have a Lexmark Z12 that I'm trying to use a usb to parallel port adapter with and it's printing every line 3 times, offset by about 1/3 of a line......is this due to this printer not working with a usb to parallel cable adapter?
    • The problem you are describing does sound like your printer may just not work properly with these USB to parallel adapter cables. If you're using a desktop computer you could likely use our Parallel PCI Card, part SW-1473 to add a real parallel port to your computer. If you're using a laptop computer you would need either a Parallel PCMCIA Card or an Expresscard Parallel card, depending on your laptop.
