You can buy the USB to Parallel adapter with a Parallel to Mini Centronics adapter here. Check your printer for the correct connection.

The Sewell USB to Parallel boasts the highest compatibility rate in the industry!

This 5-foot USB to Parallel adapter allows you to connect your parallel printer to a USB port on your computer. The parallel end fits directly into the centronics connecter on your printer (36-pin). This adapter will not work with your all-in-one printer.

If your printer uses the mini-centronics connector (about half the size of the regular centronics), you can use the centronics to mini centronics converter along with the USB to Parallel adapter.

If you need a longer USB to Parallel adapter, just add a USB extension cable to your order. They come in lengths of 3, 6, and 10 feet.

The USB to Parallel adapter is Plug & Play compatible and installs easily in seconds.

Pros: I was not very confident, when I bought that cable. I have a old Laser Colour HP4500 with a parallel port. Suprise install the cable, Vista recognise the cable, no driver to add, just add the printer with USB port (add printer setup), and work the first time. Gladly surprise, thanks

Pros: It works as advertised. I'm printing from my HP LaserJet 6L without issue.

Cons: Windows 7 couldn't automatically detect the drivers when it was plugged in.

Other: I ended up having to go into the 'Devices and Printers' control panel, select the IEEE printer that was grayed out, goto Properties, select the Hardware tab, double click the 'HP LasetJet 6L' in the list (I think it was actually called 'Hewlett-PackardHP Laserjet 6L'), click change settings, and then use the Update Driver button. It was able to download the required driver from Windows Update and this got me up and running.

Pros: This cable works perfectly. Plugged it in, driver loaded in about 3 seconds (using vista pro) and printer was up and running in about 2 minutes. Couldn't have been easier.

Cons: None

Excellent USB to Parallell Cable

MNB - 12/19/2015 5:44:55 PM

I have used many USB to parallel cables to hook up HP 4100 printers to all types of Dell desktops and notebooks. The Sewell is by far the best!!!!! None of the other cables came even close. There was no configuration required for Windows 7. Before I was even using a Parallell card and the card worked for a while until Microsoft decided updates are required every two days and messed up the drivers for good. I was so frustrated that it was worth it to try a $15 Sewell and give it a shot. I am now ordering two more Sewell cables to solve the problem on two other computers with HP 4100 printers. Can't give up the printers for some cheap plastic USB printer on the market.

Will this adapter work with HP LaserJet 2100TN & Mac OS10.5?

This adapter is compatible with Mac and will work with HP 2100 series printers. However, I believe that HP does not offer Mac support for that specific printer. You may want to confirm that information with HP.
