Overview

Note: Sewell HDMI switches are all HDCP compliant which means that this switch does not strip or bypass HDCP. This switch supports all versions of HDCP including HDCP 2.2.

The Sewell 3x1 SwithDeck (4K 3x1 HDMI Switcher) supports Full HD, 3D, HDR signals up to 4K 60Hz, and allows you to switch between three HDMI sources to one HDMI display (3-in, 1-out). SwitchDeck makes a great switch no matter what your application is. Whether you are looking to send all of your HDMI sources over one HDMI cable to an HDTV, monitor, or projector.

3x1 Distribution Amplifier

The 3x1 SwitchDeck is an active 3-port 4K HDMI switcher (aka distribution amplifier) which means that it actively amplifies and equalizes the input signal in order to perform at maximum spec. This signal amplification means that you can use a longer HDMI cable and achieve optimal results.

HDMI 2.0

The main spec to look for when trying to find a true-HDMI 2.0 switcher (including HDMI 2.0a and HDMI 2.0b) is the bandwidth spec-- it should be 18 Gbps. If an HDMI switcher claims to pass this bandwidth in each channel, it can achieve full 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 chroma.

HDCP 2.2 Switcher Compliance

Like any active HDMI component, you're going to want to start thinking about future HDCP versions. Unfortunately the new HDCP 2.2 standard is not backwards compatible. That means that if you're wanting to use an HDMI Switcher in the future that is not HDCP 2.2 compliant, it will not work with future HDTV releases or HDMI source releases.

With the SwitchDeck 5 port HDMI Switcher, since it supports HDCP 2.2, you can be sure that it will continue to work after you get that new TV someday. A lot of TVs being sold these days have at least one port that supports HDCP 2.2 and is meant for full HDMI 2.0 signals

Connection Diagram

If you have a 1080p or 720p TV, the signal sent to both from the switcher will end up being limited to 1080 or 720p unless you use a downscaler between the splitter and the 720p TV. That way, each TV will display the highest possible resolution.

Pros: Works exactly as described, this switch is perfect for people who’s 4K tv has only one 4K input, runs 4096x2160p at 60fps in 4:4:4

Cons: I wish the remote worked from farther away but that’s it

Other: Don’t waste your time with other switches that simply won’t compare, this switch is 100% legitimate

Pros: This switch is everything they claim it to be. Using it at church for switching between the iSing Apple TV and the sermon Powerpoint PC through a Sewell 4K SplitDeck one output of which going through a Sewell Echo Up/Dn Scaler to feed a large monitor for singers lyrics and the other feeding the projector. GET the Echo if you use this setup.

Cons: Happily none!

Other: All of these products are well engineered. I come from a design engineering background so I was impressed.

Pros: -Discrete On and Off commands on the remote -Discrete input selection -Handles current 4K -Balun friendly -Competitively priced

Cons: White and ugly (but who cares)

Other: Perfect switcher when you will be controlling it from a universal learning remote. Discrete commands ensure it goes to the desired input and is turned on.

Exactly what I was looking for

My Samsung 4k UHD TV has 1 HDMI port that does 4k UHD @60Hz. I needed ports for my PS4 Pro, Xbox One S, and Nvidia Sheild TV. They all work great running through this switch @ 4k UHD 60Hz. It even works with my Logitech remote. Well made switch that works as advertised.
