Splitters vs. SwitchesThis HDMI splitter will duplicate a single HDMI source on two HDMI displays. This is also sometimes called mirroring. Both displays will show the same video and audio simultaneously, whereas an HDMI switch is very different. HDMI 1.4 vs HDMI 2.0

The main attraction to HDMI v2.0 is 4K 60Hz support which is a big improvement over v1.4's 4K 30Hz standard. Improving frame rate at first might not seem like such a big deal, but twice the video bandwidth is required since it is sending twice the number of frames per second.
4K 30Hz vs 4K 60Hz
As our TVs get bigger and bigger, so does the perceived difference between refresh rates. This splitter supports 4K 30Hz while our SplitDeck HDMI Splitter Series supports 4K 60Hz, but why should you care?
As you know, video is simply a bunch of images played rapidly to give the illusion of movement. More images viewed per second equates to more-realistic video. Refresh Rates (measured in Hz) are what is used to describe the number of unique images played per second. 30 Hz means that you're seeing 30 unique images per second while 60Hz doubles the amount of images per second.
But Wait -- I thought the human eye couldn't detect individual frames much past 24 frames per second. -- That is technically true; the human eye is thoroughly convinced that they are seeing a moving image even at 24 Hz. Higher Hz rating actually makes fast-moving objects look more realistic and less blurry/jumpy.
Battling Motion Blur -- One of the outcomes of having a low Hz rating is that fast-moving objects start to look blurry. This is actually a feature of your display-- it is trying to compensate for the jarring nature of jumpy image animation. A football travelling 30 yards/second would technically only show one frame per yard when seen at 30Hz, making that throw seem unrealistic to our eyes. The TV must therefore employ motion blur or ruin the viewing experience.
Motion blur is a lot less distracting than the actual jumpiness of an image, but neither motion blur nor jumpiness are desired when watching action flicks, playing a video game, or watching sports. For those types of video content, we highly recommend that you do not settle for 30Hz.
If you have a 1080p TV and a 720p TV, the signal sent to both from the splitter will end up being 720p unless you use a downscaler between the splitter and the 720p TV. That way, each TV will display the highest possible resolution.
100 Ft. Distance Test with this Splitter
In the video below we show off the distance limitations of our HDMI cable and HDMI splitter using 50 feet of cable between the splitter and the video source, and 50 feet between the splitter and the display (typical HDMI specs limit the signal to 16 feet only).

Audio Split Issue

Pros: Works as advertised! Picture on both TV's is perfect. One has a 50 foot HDMI cable running to it and works fine! Lowest price for this type of product I could find. "Best Buy" version is $99.00 !!!
Cons: The specs discuss the splitter will split the signal based on the lowest resolution TV connected to it. This was not an issue for me seeing both TV's were 1080P capable. The problem I had was the audio side of the signal. I have a 5.1 Surround Receiver connected to one side and just a TV (just 2 speakers) connected to the other. If the splitter sent the 5.1 audio to the TV then I received no audio on the TV without surround. If I switched it around and sent the 2.0 audio, I received audio on the TV but lost 5.1 surround on the receiver. So, the splitter had to be set up to split the 2.0 audio signal and not the 5.1. The only other issue I have is the very bright LED's!
Other: Not a big deal, fortunately I was able to use another 5.1 connection from the cable box to the receiver so I can enjoy 5.1 surround sound on the receiver and 2.0 audio on the other TV! Highly recommend this product.

Pros: Cheap and does work.
Cons: Will not work splitting cable box to 2 a/v receivers unless both receivers are on. Turn 1 off, pic goes blank.

Pros: Good, quality construction, compact, operates exactly as it's supposed to do at a great price.
Cons: Integrated onboard power supply would have been nice rather than the external one supplied. However, works well
Other: I would/will buy again. Highly recommend and Sewell shipping was very fast.

No picture quality lost, quick change when source is selected, can use long hdmi cables with no problems, small size, very durable!
What if my displays are different sizes?
The splitter will send the lowest common resolution to both displays. The splitter has to send the exact same signal to both displays, and defaults to the lowest common denominator so that both displays will work. That means if you have a 1080p television and a 720p television both will get a 720p signal from the splitter.

Do both displays need to be on at the same time?
No. Televisions will generally continue to send a standby signal even when they’re turned off. You can watch on either television, or both, without worrying about changing your setup.

Do both displays need to be televisions?
No. This HDMI splitter works with any HDMI device. That means it will work just fine with televisions, projectors, AVRs, video processors, capture cards, etc.
