"Ordering process was easy and product arrived faster than I had expected. Thanks."

Need to break out your 5.1 surround toslink/RCA digital audio into analog RCA connections? This high-end converter breaks it out for you with zero audio loss.

Toslink and RCA Coax Digital SPDIF to RCA Analog

There are a lot of A/V players out there (Blu-ray players, DVRs, Cable Boxes, video game consoles, computers, media boxes, etc.) that feature either toslink output or digital RCA output (known as SPDIF or RCA Coax). These digital signals that have the 5.1 surround sound channels embedded together can be separated out into multiple RCA connections for an audio receiver or sound system that takes analog RCA rather than optical or RCA digital.

Superior Quality

This device specializes in one thing: separating out your 5.1 surround sound from a combined toslink or digital RCA connection. Since we focus on only one task with this converter, we've made sure that the fidelity holds true to the original sound production.

Didn't work for me

Pros: Worked great... for a few minutes

Cons: Might be the Direct TV signal, because it kept dropping the audio until I reset the 2.1 / 5.1 switch, then after a few minutes, would drop again. Did this with coax or optical input.

Other: I am no longer using it, bought a new receiver, which works fine with my source.

Pros: Accepts both PCM & Dolby Digital sources

Other: My new Panasonic TV had only a Toslink optical output. The exercise room where the TV was used only had an older A/V receiver with no HDMI or optical inputs. With the noise of the equipment I needed external speakers with more volume. Some converters will only convert PCM (not 5.1 digital) to stereo. If your TV doesn't allow manual output selection (mine doesn't) you need a converter that handles both. This gem doesn't seem to care about the input and gives you the option of stereo out or also using the whole 5/1 setup. It comes with instructions for configuration but I touched nothing and got splendid results right out of the box. Even came with a Toslink cable! Now my new TV gets along perfectly with my old sound system. Thanks Sewell!!

Works ok...

Has multiple optical inputs which is great if you have more than one source that needs to be converted. Simple to operate, just plug it in and it works. Inexpensive.

This decoder does the job perfectly. The included operation manual is not accurate to the product but the ease of use overcome this small issue. As an complementary information please note that this decoder includes the surround channel output in the stereo mode (2.1) feature!
