This is compatible with 802.11g cards. In order to use the 802.11n speed, you'd need an 802.11n wireless card in the computers that are connecting to it.

Question:

My notebooks have internal G cards. Will this help the performance of these notebooks, or must I get N cards to get full performance value? Could you give an estimate range of increase in performance if any (keeping the G cards)?

Answer:

You must have 802.11n cards to get any benefit from using an 802.11n router. If you just have 802.11g cards, you will still only have an 802.11g speed connection. There will not be any performance increase from an 802.11g router.
