Question:

How do you get the jump drives to play in the player?

Answer:

It should automatically recognize any MP3 files you have stored on your jump drive. It will start in the root directory of the drive, then play any songs located in any sub folders.

Question:

I have the VR-300, and when you shut off the unit in the middle of a song being played from an SD card or USB source, the song starts from the beginning the next time the unit is turned on. This is a problem if you listen to concerts, which could be a single track that lasts over an hour. On power up, does the VR-500 resume at the point in a track when it was powered down, or does it start from the beginning like the VR-300?

Answer:

The VRCD500-SDU (part SW-5096) does act the same way. When turning the unit back on it will resume on the same file, but it will start at the beginning. Unfortunately with these players there is no way around that.

Question:

I came across a VRCD400-SDU. The only problem was that it was just the unit and none of the wiring harness or remote were included in the package. How can I get the other items that come with it?

Answer:

We do not carry replacement parts. We suggest contacting the manufacturer.

Question:

What is the advantage of the 500 vs the 400? I thought, for sure, I saw a VR3 model that would read DVDs and you supplied your own screen. I know it is not the 630, it has it's own screen and the faceplate does not look good like these. Thanks!

Answer:

The VRCD400SDU and the VRCD500SDU models both have basically the same features. They are just different models. The only models that VR-3 sells that have DVD support are the VRVD630 and the VRVG640G. Both have screens built onto them, but they do allow composite output so that you can supply your own screen. They both do, however, have their own screens built in that will display the video.

Question:

Are you saying that you can download music onto a SD card? I am not too bright when it comes to electronics but my CD player in my car does not work and I was wondering if using a plug in modulator would replace it. It's the same as the USB, how can you put music on it or can you to play it on the car stereo? Please help this grannie. Many thanks

Answer:

This will let you copy MP3 files from your computer to an SD card or USB drive, then the stereo can read and play back the files. If your existing stereo can still pick up radio stations, you could get an FM modulator like the SW-4799 which has similar features without needing to replace your car stereo.
