Minideck, USB 3.0 to Additional Display Adapter
Description
Easily add an extra monitor to your computer and enjoy the added graphics performance of USB 3.0 through a single USB port. Perfect for presentations and to improve productivity at work and play.
How it works
The Minideck 3.0 acts as an external graphics card. Meaning it is NOT a dedicated GPU. The actual video rendering is done by the computer itself.
Once the video is rendered by the computer, it is "encoded" through a proprietary algorithm that allows it to be sent via USB 3.0 without delay and it is then "decoded" by the Minideck 3.0's chipset in real-time.
New Chipset
Slow transfer rates can cause you to have choppy streaming and lag when watching video. By upgrading the chipset we have greatly increased the speed of the Minideck 3.0 by adding real-time adaptive compression technology. In order for your computer, the Minideck, and your monitor to transfer data, the data needs to be compressed. This process of compressing and decompressing data can affect your transfer rates. Real-time adaptive compression balances compression methods from moment to moment based on content, USB bandwidth, and CPU power availability to deliver a lag-free video output.
Drivers
After a one-time driver installation, the Minideck will work just by plugging it in. The driver is included in a USB drive, and the latest driver downloads are included at the bottom of this page.
More Screen Space
We live in the age of multi-tasking, and it's been proven that having more than one screen to multi-task can improve productivity. That’s what makes the Minideck 3.0 so great; you can easily add up to 6 monitors (up to 4 on Mac) via USB.
