Overview

Suggested solution: If you're looking to add a second external display, to either your laptop or desktop computer, we strongly suggest our more affordable USB to DVI display adapter

The Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition takes your analog (VGA) or DVI signal and allows you to connect up to three additional digital or analog monitors to your notebook or desktop.

Matrox's TripleHead2Go Digital Edition is the latest in their series of Graphics eXpansion Modules (GXM) that externally connects to your laptop or desktop and uses advanced software to expand your desktop over up to three additional screens. That means, if you use this for your laptop, you will be powering four screens including your laptop's built-in display.

You don't have to worry whether or not your machine is powerful enough to drive this many displays. The TripleHead2Go is an external video card with its own engine.

Digital Monitors with your VGA Computer

You don't have to have an expensive video card or laptop with a DVI port to enjoy digital DVI monitors anymore. Matrox comes through once again and offers digital DVI support for systems without digital outputs. You can also use VGA adapters on the TripleHead2Go's DVI ports if you find you have to connect VGA monitors to some or all the ports.

Whether you plan to do some day trading, or if you're an accountant that needs more desktop real estate, or if you are a serious gamer that wants a "surround graphics" experience, this device supports both dual-monitor configurations at a maximum resolution of up to 3840 x 1200 (2x 1920 x 1200)1 and triple-monitor configurations with a maximum resolution of up to 3840 x 1024 (3x 1280 x 1024)1 with digital or analog monitors.

Matrox TripleHead2Go's Monitor Bezel Management technology is an exclusive software feature with the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition that effectively "hides" part of the image behind the bezel of your monitor and creates the effect of a continuous image - bringing a new realism to gaming - in particular to simulation-type video games. By selecting this option through the Matrox PowerDesk SE3 interface, race simmers for example, you can see the race track lines fully aligned from the base leg without the monitor bezels hindering their view and allowing them to have a "real-life" racing experience.

Easy to Use and Carry

The TripleHead2Go is extremely lightweight and easy to carry around, so it is really designed for portability. Take it with you to LAN parties or slip it in your laptop bag on business trips.

Setup is super easy. There is no need to open up your computer's box to install it; it's just a matter of connecting the cables.

Questions

Question:

My notebook outputs 3D accelerated images (Direct3D, OpenGL). Can these be seen on the additional T2G monitors?

Answer:

Yes, the TripleHead2Go will appear to your comptuer as if you have a single screen that is three times the width of a normal screen. As long as your comptuer can drive that resolution with 3D acceleration, it will be passed on to the other montiors.

Question:

I want to run 3 separate PowerPoint presentations on two monitors and my laptop-one on each. Will this device allow me to do this or does it simply mirror all the presentations on the one monitor. I've tried to open and move multiple PowerPoint presentations with ultramon without success although I seem to be able to do it with word

Answer:

This adapter will essentailly appear to your computer to have one monitor that is very wide. You can run applications on each screen independently, but your comptuer will not differentiate between the different screens (without additional software) The limitation of one presentation per computer seems not to be based on the display settings, but in PowerPoint itself.
