Overview

IR signal repeater SW-29310

Just because IR is line-of-sight doesn't mean that your equipment has to be! Overcome your remote's distance limitations and clean up your home theater setup with Sewell's elegant IR Emitter and Receiver Wall Plate Kit.

The Problem

Home theaters always come with a lot of equipment. While necessary, all of that equipment can turn your nice home theater into an eyesore. But if you want to clean up your setup by putting it all in a closet, your remote control won’t work anymore. That’s because remote controls work by using Infra Red (IR) signals, which can only work through line of sight.

The Solution

That’s why you need an IR extender, like the BlastIR Wall Plate Kit. This kit will provide all the parts you need to extend your IR signal to wherever you are hiding all of your equipment. That way you get the clean, professional look you want, but you are still able to use all of your remotes to control your home theater experience.

Ir Guide

How it Works

The BlastIR Wall Plate Kit uses a 3.5mm mini stereo wire to route your IR signal through the wall, directly where it needs to go. It can control up to 4 different devices and after installation all that you can see is a small wall plate.

The BlastIR Wall Plate Kit gives you an incredibly clean, professional look that is completely free of wires, and it’s easy to install.

Question:

Does this product work with AT&T Uverse wired and wireless DVRs?

Answer:

Unfortunately this IR repeater won't work with some models of AT&T U-verse boxes: Cisco Explorer 4642HDC, IPN 4320, IPN 330HD and the Motorola VIP series. There may be others that are also incompatible, but these are the ones we know of for sure. DVRs should work fine as long as the remote control signal is on a frequency between 34 and 60 kHz. Most everything falls within this range, but to know for sure you will have to find out the remote's frequency with the DVR's manufacturer.
