Overview

Halite with DVP Technology

The Darblet with Darbee Visual Presence Technology

The Darblet is a hardware driven HDMI video enhancer. It uses Darbee Visual Presence Technology to brighten, sharpen, and clarify video and images, bringing incredible detail to your TV from any video source.

Beyond HD

It is currently believed that 1080p with deep color is the best level of video quality available to most home users. Conventional wisdom dictates that quality won’t improve without increasing resolution or improving other specs like contrast ratio and color depth.

4k is promising to do just that, but it is an expensive solution at best. The Darblet uses patented technology to go beyond conventional graphics technology by processing images and video the same way the human brain does. This adds new levels of detail, textures, and colors not visible before, essentially transforming your entertainment experience.

The Darblet takes full advantage of the latest HDMI features, meaning the Darblet is fully compatible with Deep Color and 3D.

Easy Installation

Not only is the Darblet affordable, it’s also a very simple solution to upgrading your video quality. Other upgrades involve changing your TV and/or your source (like your DVD player). The Darblet goes between your source and your display. All you need is the Darblet and one additional HDMI cable.

The Darblet is completely Plug-n-Play, you don't need to install any drivers or software. There are simple controls to set up the Darblet according to your personal preferences.

Pros: Easy setup. Easy to use. Clearly improves sharpness without adding haloing or other artifacts.

Cons: Price. HDMI handshake with some devices requires a source reset. DVD and Blu-ray players along with satellite DVR work fine, but media PC sometimes has corrupted video when switch switches to that input. I can refresh the PC display resolution and then the color palette returns to normal.

Other: You have to decide for yourself if this little gem is worth the price to you. Using all sorts of source material from HD Satellite to DVD and Blue Ray discs, including test patters, I have decided that it is worth the price. I wouldn't use it at over 50% Darbee, but at that setting I am appreciating the subtle increases in detain and the freedom from video artifacts that most lower priced video processors produce. This ugly little duckling is a swan on the screen where it counts. Previously I have only seen this type of improvement from $2K and up processors. It can't add resolution or remove artifacts, but if your imnput signal is clean you will absolutely see the difference. I inserted it between my HDMI switch and the display panel.

Outstanding

Pros: After reading many reviews and watching available online video demonstrations of this product, I pulled the trigger. Thought, I can return it if it does not work for me. Well, I won’t be returning it. This is a keeper. I understand excitement over this item. The online video demonstrations don’t do it justice. The Darblet, HDMI Video Processor is amazing! If I did not see it for myself, I would not believed this little gem could improve a picture produced by a DLP projector and Blu-ray player. DVD movies and HD programming is also vastly improved. Some have complained about the simple design of the Darblet and the bright LED lights. For its purpose, its design is quite functional and the LED lights can be dimmed or turned off completely if you choose. This item is meant to be a “set it and forget it “ item. I find the Hi Def viewing mode at 55 works the best for me. The short of it is that I am glad I made the purchase. I am very pleased.

Cons: None

Pros: I run a JVC RS-55 projector, fairly high end, and even with my JVC and its E-Shift sharpening technology, the difference in picture clarity is amazing. This is not a hyped product but a real breakthrough in visual science. I can see manufacturers licensing this technology to put in their TV's or projectors.

Cons: It is finicky about where you place it in the video chain. I had to put it right before my projector. If I had it near my pre-amp, the pre-amp would not lock on to the video signal if the pre-amp was turned off and on again.

Improves the image sharpness somewhat - just enough to keep it.
