"Very prompt delivery and excellent product."

Converting your VGA signal (your PC's video signal) to a standard composite (usually yellow RCA) signal is simple and easy with this converter by Sabrent.

How This Converter Works

Simply plug in your VGA source and your TV's composite port using the included cables. The converter doesn't require a wall-plug power adapter because it uses the power from your computer's USB port, making this solution easy and convenient with no wall-plug requirement.

Since converting a VGA to a composite signal requires more than just a passive converter cable, Sabrent has made this specialized conversion box. Since this is a real and active video conversion, the result isn't always an exact replica of the original signal. See this detailed article with PC to TV screenshots.

This computer to TV converter does not include audio. If you need to go to the 1/8-inch sound connector on your sound card to Audio RCA, check out the handy 1/8 inch to RCA Audio cable.

Works well once set up

Pros: Relatively inexpensive compared to others I have been looking at. It works as expected to display movies played on my laptop to the TV. It cannot be used to display a computer screen on the TV. You can see it, but the resolution is not good enough to read. It is designed for movies or video.

Cons: It took awhile to get the settings correct. There isn't any type of manual, just set-up instructions. I had to adjust the settings quite a bit for the display to show up properly on my TV.

Other: I could not get the display to look good at all. I was just about to give up and decided to change the resolution on my laptop. Once I set my laptop to 1280x768 it displayed properly on my TV. Also, the dip switches on the device had to be set to NTSC (it was set to PAL out of the box) The audio from the laptop has to be handled separately. I was able to connect the laptop headphone jack to a mp3 input on my home theater system and it sounds great.

good deal

what wires does the product come with? what wires will i have to purchase to hook the system up to my computer/tv?

This item comes with a USB power cable, a cable to go to the VGA port on the computer, a composite video cable, and an s-video cable. This is every cable you need to connect the computer's video output to the TV. If you want the audio to be transmitted to the TV as well, you'll need to purchase a 3.5mm to RCA audio cable. That item will connect the audio output of your computer to the L/R audio inputs on the TV.

Does this have everything you need to convert souind and video from pc to tv or is there something i need to have to get it to work additionally?

As stated in the product description, this converter only handles the video signal. In order to get the audio from your computer to your TV you'll need a 1/8 inch to RCA audio cable. That cable will plug into the speaker jack on your computer and into the audio input on your TV.
