There is so much free content online to watch these days, why not put them from your computer to your big screen HDMI TV with this simple converter?

Scaling to 720p

This converter includes a scaling capability that will fit numerous VGA and Component Video resolutions to your HDMI TV. This ensures easy set-up. You'll never have to worry about fiddling around with your computer's resolutions just to fit your HDMI TV, only to change it back again when you want to use your computer monitor.

On/Off Switch

Sewell's VGA to HDMI adapter is the only one with an on/off switch. For set-ups that are a bit complicated this can become extremely useful, especially when the converter is continuously trying to send a signal to other equipment.

Should I get this 720p converter or a 1080p converter?

The answer lies within how large your HDTV is. If you can honestly tell the difference between 1080p and 720p on your HDTV, then get the Sewell Hammerhead 1080p converter. In general we'd recommend 720p converters for HDTVs less than 37 inches. If you're planning on reading text from your VGA computer on your HDMI TV, then 720p might also be preferred because it will make the characters large enough to read from across the room.

You can also use this VGA to HDMI converter to convert your iPad to HDMI Check out our article on converting iPad to HDMI on how to do this.

Pros: I bought this to hook my laptop to our 32" LCD HDTV. It was so easy - just plug & play. I also bought a HDMI 3' Cable (wanted a longer one but they were out of stock) to use with it and must say the price was right! They're much more expensive at Walmart. I'm very pleased with the picture and would highly recommend this product.

Works Great!!

Pros: Works great as previous reviews have stated! I first purchased a cheap VGA to S Video adapter to watch my Sling Box when out of town and the picture was really bad. Then I looked all over the internet for a better solution when I found the Sewell SW-9393. It was plug & play and well worth the price!!

Cons: None so far.

Other: I would recommend this product to friends and family as it provides you with monitor like quality on your HDMI TV Input. Thanks Sewell for a great product!!

Question:

what is max. of cable you can run between it and T.V. thanks

Answer:

You could use a long vga cable, 150ft and still have great quality. If you were to run hdmi you would want to stay below 50ft. The official standard on hdmi is no longer than 15 feet, though we have had succuess up to 50 ft.
