"Ordering process was easy and product arrived faster than I had expected. Thanks."

Overview

The connector on most parallel printers is called Centronics. However, several HP printer models use a connector that is about half the size of the standard Centronics connector, called mini-Centronics.

This Centronics to mini-Centronics adapter converts the Centronics connector of a parallel cable (or USB to parallel adapter) to a mini-Centronics allowing you to use your parallel cable or adapter to connect to your mini-Centronics printer.

Question:

I bought a USB to Parallel Converter (1284), but now need the Mini-Centronics converter. Will this work with my iMac OS-X?

Answer:

It does not matter what operating system you are using with this converter more so it matters if your printer is mini centronics or not. The cable you bought has the drivers built in to it for the Mac OS X system.

Question:

I am trying to connect an HP LaserJet 3100se printer to a Netgear PS101 print server. Will this product (SW-2104) work for me? Are there any compatibility issues? Do I need to install any special drivers? Thanks!

Answer:

Assuming that the PS101 can drive your printer (contact netgear to be sure) this will adapt the connection to fit your printer.
