Overview

The BlastIR USB IR repeater kit allows you to use an existing remote control to operate up to four AV components located behind in the rear the room, in a cabinet, an equipment closet, or anywhere else that is out of sight. IR distribution technology allows you to conceal all of your bulky entertainment equipment, like your cable box, satellite receiver, stereo, amplifier, Blu Ray player, and more without losing the ability to control it with your remote.

The BlastIR USB repeater kit is dual band, which means it will work with the most IR devices. You can power the BlastIR USB with the USB port on your HDTV, giving you a clean look and an easy install. If your TV doesn’t have a USB port, simply use the included DC12V adapter. This compact BlastIR is perfect for a simple installation in which you are only hiding away one device. If you need to control multiple devices, check out the full sized BlastIR Pro.

Ir Guide

How it Works

The BlastIR USB consists of an emitter, a receiver, and a USB power cable. The receiver is a small, easy to hide device that you can mount on or near your HDTV. Keep in mind that the receiver must be in the line-of-sight to wherever you will be using your remote control.

The receiver picks up your remote’s IR signal and transfers it over a small cable to the emitter. The emitter can be placed directly over the IR sensor on the device you wish to control.

The USB cable either plugs into the USB port on your TV, or you can plug it into the included DC12V adapter to power the BlastIR USB.

The length of the cable between the emitter and receiver is 6 feet. The length between the USB power connector and the IR receiver is also 6 feet, so the combined length of the product is 12 feet.

Troubleshooting

If you're having troubles with your BlastIR USB kit, there are some simple things you can do to troubleshoot the problem. This video will walk you through the steps. Even though we use a BlastIR classic, the same techniques to check the IR signal apply. You can also check out this article about troubleshooting the BlastIR.

Pros: Easy Install, Great Price, Works perfect with TV's.

Cons: None!

Other: I installed 2 40" flat screen TV's in the basement game room for the kids game systems (xbox360, xbox, wii etc etc). They were hard to control with the remotes since they were mounted right next to each other since the IR signals would get sent to both TV's. I used 2 sets of the BlastIR USB repeater to move the IR receiver for each TV to the far corner of the TB instead of the middle of the TV. Now the remote can be pointed to the corner of the TV that you want to control. Great product and great price, works perfectly. I did not want to take the chance using some of the other cheaper models found elsewhere online. I'm ordering a BlastIR Pro Kit for our main TV/Cable box/DVD setup too.

Great Product

Happy in AZ - 2/12/2018 9:04:31 AM

I just had a cabinet built and wasn't sure how to hide my components. I had no idea what I needed. Sewell Direct had so much information and helpful videos that I felt confident I had purchased the right product for my needs.
