A high-performance 4K Matrix that has all the features you need to fit whatever your A/V needs are.
This Matrix can extract the Audio from each HDMI input and send it to a separate audio system. This takes the hassle of having to switch audio sources and cables.
The main spec to look for in a true HDMI 2.0 switch (including HDMI 2.0a and HDMI 2.0b) is the bandwidth spec. In order to achieve full 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 chroma, the HDMI Switch needs to support 18 Gbps bandwidth.
4K@30Hz vs 4K@60Hz
As our TV's get bigger, so does their ability to support higher refresh rates. This matrix supports 4K@60Hz, but why should you care?
HDCP 2.2 and Backwards Compatible
Like any active HDMI component, you're going to want to start thinking about future HDCP versions. This Matrix gives you the new HDCP 2.2 standard but is also backwards compatible to earlier versions. Since it does supports HDCP 2.2, you can be sure that it will continue to work after you upgrade your displays.
Easy and straight-forward EDID management with a simple and intuitive web interface.
One of the most important reasons to manage EDID is to ensure that you are treating each display connected to the Matrix uniquely. For example: If you are splitting a signal to two displays that support different resolutions, most splitters/matrixes will send the lowest-common resolution to all connected displays because they are designed to mirror the same content on all screens.
EDID management allows you to treat every display uniquely by manually selecting the specs that each display can support. This unit also has an automatic EDID learning feature so you don't always need to input the EDID information for each display manually.
IP, RS-232, & IR Control
IP control/RS-232 control allows you to control the switching and splitting from a computer, but it also includes a few advanced features that give you a lot more control over the exact specs of the video you send to each individual display.
The HL21 can also be controlled through RS-232 with a connection either with a sender unit or hook up with the Gigabit Network switch giving easy access to multiple saved configurations.
It also includes an external IR Receiver cable so you can control the matrix even if it is out-of-sight from the remote.
