Pros: This is a great little device to listen to your audio files without having to buy a new stereo, or install/reinstall each time you trade your vehicle.

Cons: Whether your mp3 came from downloading or extracted off of a cd of you own, it must be formatted to 128kps - otherwise your music will sound distorted. Unless this is a more updated version than mine (VRFM7)and not just a repackaging, then you are not able to use a thumbdrive larger than a 2 GB. I popped in a 4gb drive into mine - nothing but silence. Swapped it for my 2 GB drive, music plays.

Other Comments: Works wonders when you rent a car. The lady asked me if I wanted to pay for the upgrade so I could have XM in the car. I said no, as long as I have a cigarette lighter, I have enough music to last my whole trip. "Our cars do NOT have cigarette lighters, sir. They have Power Ports." (same thing, it worked.) Another fun thing to do is record some 3 second samples like "You are listening to Dallas FM. My music, all the time." Then rename it starting with a different letter. This device will play all your audio files in alphabet order. If you have an Asian car, where the "power port" is non-functional when the engine is off, then the drive will start all over from the beginning each time you start the engine.

Pros: Easy to operate, compact size, works well with both SD and USB2 Thumbdrive.

Cons: None so far.

Other Comments: I loaded over 200 half hour programs of Old Time Radio programs on a 2GB SD card and used the VRFM9 on a 5 hour trip to WV from OH. No problems with operation and the VRFM9 still has lots of five hour trips remaining before we listen to all the OTR programs..
