The Gefen VGA RS232 Extender uses a sender unit which sits next to and connects to your VGA and serial RS232 source with provided cables. The sender unit shoots the signal through a single Cat 5 cable to the receiver, which sits next to your VGA monitor and your serial device. Your VGA monitor (the extender is LCD or CRT compatible) and RS-232 serial device connect to the receiver and pick up the perfect and unscathed signal from your source, up to 330 feet away.
