    • Yes, the USB to Serial adapter will work in a USB 2.0 port. However, It does not require a USB 2.0 port due to the fact that the serial connection is much slower than USB 1.1 anyway. It will work fine on either a USB 2.0 or a USB 1.1 type port.

  • I didn't see a Linux driver on your download page. Where can I get a Linux driver for your USB-Serial SW-1301 adapter?
  • What is the temperature range?
    • This adapter uses the Prolific chipset - the temperature range allows for temperatures of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius. This is from -40 degrees to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • I need an adapter, serial to usb serial has to be female. What do you suggest?
    • Since USB to Serial adapters are built to add a serial COM port to a computer and computer's serial ports are male, these adapters are male as well. If you do need it to be female I would recommend using a USB to serial adapter like the SW-1301 and a Female to Female Gender Changer, DB9, part SW-1803. That will change the end of the cable to female.
