USB to Parallel Adapter, 5 ft. Reviews - K200V1

Pros: I was not very confident, when I bought that cable. I have a old Laser Colour HP4500 with a parallel port. Suprise install the cable, Vista recognise the cable, no driver to add, just add the printer with USB port (add printer setup), and work the first time. Gladly surprise, thanks

Pros: This cable works perfectly. Plugged it in, driver loaded in about 3 seconds (using vista pro) and printer was up and running in about 2 minutes. Couldn't have been easier.

Other Comments: Upgraded to a new computer. Was worried about Vista, but one of the problems was a lack of a parallel port. My LJ5p still works grand and my check writing software was calibrated for it. I was accessing it through another computer on the network, but it was slow and when it didn't work, I had to trouble shoot through machines to find out why. The adapter is bidrectional and it is just lime the Vista machine had a parallel port with HP hooked up.

Pros: Plugged in and got my HP 6L LaserJet back in service after my print server died. I no longer needed a print server.

Other Comments: If you really don't need a print server, this is far cheaper and less of a headache

Other Comments: Sewell Direct is awesome. The price is right on with no "handling" charges - a refreshing change. The cable plugged right in to my old HP Laserjet 6p and into the USB port on the pc w/Windows Vista Home Premium. Driver install for the cable was automatic. I manually installed the Laserjet 6p drivers before the cable arrived, and had selected port LPT1 for the printer. This duh! caused a printer error. Changed LPT1 to USB and it works excellent!
