  • I got HP P1006 and HP P1505N printers that have only USB ports. Can I connect either of them to a Parallel port in computer?
    • Unfortunately we do not have any solutions that will let you connect a USB printer to a parallel port. Typically you will have to add USB ports to your computer with a PCI card (for a desktop) or PCMCIA card (for a laptop)

  • Hi, I update firmware through parallel ports and I was curious how this sets up, as a USB device or on LPT1. Thanks
    • USB to parallel adapters install as USB printing support. They will not install as an LPT port.

  • Will this connector work with the Sharp AL-1451 that takes a standard parallel interface? It combines a copier and printer, but not a fax. So I don't think it is an all-in-one printer. But since it is an older model, I'm just not sure. Any thoughts?
    • I'm afraid this will not be compatible. USB adatpers typically do not support any multi-function printers. You can get a parallel add on card, which are affordable and reliable for desktop computers (PCI cards) , but for a laptop they are relatively expensive and are not compatible with all systems.

  • Will this adaptor allow a computer to "see" an HP dongle? I am running HP ME10 CAD software and I want to transfer it to a laptop which has only USB ports.
    • This adapter is only meant for printer use. It will not work with your dongle. We suggest getting an expansion card for your computer to work with dongles.

  • I have a hp deskjet 842c printer, and a dell inspiron 531 computer. Will this work with my printer and computer?
    • According to HP's website, your printer has a USB pot already built in, so you have no need for this cable.
