  • Will this adapter work with HP LaserJet 2100TN & Mac OS10.5?
    • This adapter is compatible with Mac and will work with HP 2100 series printers. However, I believe that HP does not offer Mac support for that specific printer. You may want to confirm that information with HP.

  • I have a hp laserjet 1100 printer currently connected to home pc. Trying to find a parallel cable adapter that fits into my hp (compaq nc6400) laptop, which one works?
    • The best option for you would be the SW-7383 We have had a lot of Customers use that with the HP1100. (Please note however that it will not work with the all-in-one series 1100)

  • I have a DOS program which will only ptint through an LPT port. My new computer does not have the parallel port. If I use the USB to parallel adapter will it enable me to print from this program?
    • USB to Parallel adapters will not install as true LPT ports. They install as USB printing support. To get a true LPT port you must add a true parallel port to the computer. If you are trying to install the printer on a desktop computer you can install a card like this one: Parallel PCI Card If you are trying to install it on a laptop that has a PCMCIA slot you can use this one: Parallel PCMCIA card If you are trying to install it on a laptop that has an ExpressCard slot you can use this one: Parallel ExpressCard Those will install as LPT ports and should be able to provide full functionality with your printer.

  • Hi, I have a HP lazerJet4 printer that I just love and am having trouble getting the computer to recognize the cable or the printer. I tried the step 7 above with no notice on my computer at all. I really wanted this to work, but I do not know what steps to take next. Is there a printer driver that I can install that will work? And where can I download it? thanks
    • You can see if the cable itself is being recognized in the (Windows) Device manager. Under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers it will install as "USB printer support." If you do not see that, there is likely a problem with the cable (or possibly your USB ports) You can return the cable for testing and a replacement or refund.

  • I have an HP Laserjet 5P I want to connect to a Mac Mini (Intel) running OSX Tiger 10.4.9. The printer has the small centronics plug as well as the regular size, and I was using the smaller one with the Dell PC. Will the Mac see the printer, first of all, or do I need a special driver? Will your cable work with this printer? Thanks
    • If your printer has the standard centronics connection on it, this should be exactly the cable you need. Our cable will work with the Mac OS, but you will need to check with HP to make sure you can get Mac drivers for your printer. If HP does offer Mac drivers for it then this cable should work for you.
