  • Does IDE I/F have a flat ribbon cable with 40 pin two row connector? I need a replacement CD Rom for Lite-On LTN-262 and my CD rom has 40 pin two row connector(20 pins in each row) connected to a flat ribbon cable. I have found a Lite-on LTN-529S with ATAPI-E / IDE interface and need to be sure that I/F are compatiable. Thanks
    • The standard IDE interface (also known as EIDE, PATA etc.) is a 40 pin connection with two rows of pins. (occasionally one pin is blocked or missing) This adapter will read the standard 40 pin IDE or the smaller connector for laptop 2.5" hard drives (with a 44 pin connection)

  • I would like to use this product to clone hardrives. of course, I would need software, but would this work if I hooked up a HD to it and via the USB clone the drive ? Thank you
    • If you have cloning software that will support a USB drive then this should work well for you. It will give you full access to the drive including formatting and partitioning.

  • You show a usb to ide, and an ide to usb converter. Both connect ide drives to a usb port. Do you have a product which will connect a usb drive to an ide port?
    • Unfortunately, all we have are converters to go from USB to IDE. We do not have anything that will connect a USB drive to an IDE port.

    • It should not matter, but we suggest that it be set to master.
