    • Yes, the USB 2.0 cable will still work with computers that have USB 1.1 ports. FastLynx will just be limited to performing the transfer at the USB 1.1 speed of 11mbps.

  • Hello! I read somewhere that connecting 2 computers together with a usb (to like transfer files or music etc) could short circuit and/or destroy both computers. Is this true? Is this kind of cable ok to do that kind of data transfer with? How is this cable different from a USB A to A cable?
    • This type of cable is safe. A bridge cable is actually like connecting a USB cable from each computer to a special USB device in the middle that is used to transfer files. The bridge cable just integrates that transfer device and makes it simpler to use. It is specifically designed to allow you to transfer data with software like Fastlynx.

  • Will the FastLynx sl.exe dos slave work with the USB Bridge cable? My device boots to dos off of a USB thumb drive so the bios supports USB to som eextent. thanks
    • No, the DOS slave will only work with serial or parallel transfers. To use a USB or network connection you will need to have the program installed and the computer running Windows. (You can however run Fastlynx off of an external media like a USB drive)

  • I just purchased this cable from you but received no software/drivers with it. Do I need a driver to use this bridge cable?
    • This cable is designed to work with our award-winning software called FastLynx. If you look at the product description for the Bridge Cable, is does note that it requires the FastLynx software for file transfer. Fortunately we have several different options for the purchase of the program including an electronic download.
