Multi-mode
Multi-mode fiber provides greater bandwidth with shorter distances. Multi-mode uses fiber with a greater width than single-mode that allows it to carry more. Multi-mode fiber is perfect to keep your network within the same building or even the next building as long as the distance is less than 2km.
RJ45 Networks
This converter is compatible with both 10Base and 100Base networks. 10Base networks run at 10Mbps transfer speeds, and run at 100Base networks 100mbps. RJ45 networks are limited to 100 meters (330 feet). This converter allows you to run up to 100 meters of RJ45 cable to it and 2,000 meters of fiber cable. That gives you a total of 2100 meters (6,800 feet) that you can extend with this converter alone. You can use this converter to turn RJ45 into fiber and another converter to switch back.
