Fastwire is the award winning file transfer program that was first shipped by our company (known then as Paragon Computer Consultants) in 1985. It was picked up by a software publisher the next year, and was followed in 1987 by the highly successful release of Fastwire II, which earned recognition in numerous competitive file transfer reviews. In 1989, we released an upgrade to Fastwire II which we renamed FastLynx 1.0.
Fastwire and Fastwire II worked well on DOS systems, but had some problems when running in a DOS box under Windows. FastLynx, though still DOS-based (versions 1 and 2), was specifically designed to work well in the Windows 3.x environment. If you are using any version of Fastwire, we highly recommend that you upgrade to FastLynx. If you still want a DOS-based version, we recommend that you use FastLynx 2.01. You can get FastLynx 2.01 by purchasing FastLynx 3.3. FastLynx 3.3 is a 32-bit Windows program that can handle long file names (it comes with a DOS slave for serial and parallel connectivity with DOS and Win 3.x systems). It also includes a menu option that allows you to download FastLynx 2.01 for DOS-to-DOS transfers.
