WallBlade installation step by step instructions

What you’ll need:
  • WallBlade kit
  • Pliers to bend wire
  • Utility knife for cutting drywall and cutting cable drop sections
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Measuring tape (optional)
  • Bubble level (optional)
Wall Mount instructions
1 – Using the template included at the back of this instruction manual, measure and cut out a hole in the wall for each wall plate. The top hole should be right behind where your TV will be, while the bottom should be on or near the regular outlet height. If using the included in-wall power cable the holes should be no more than 9 feet apart. (note that the WallBlade does not need to be installed next to a stud) banana plug installation

2 – Using a utility knife, cut out the correct size holes in the audio/video cable slots on both wall plates. Start with cutting out the largest block and cut further down as needed. banana plug installation

3 – Using the top wall plate (the one with a power receptacle), unscrew the receptacle cover box and the power receptacle and remove both. Feed one end of the in-wall power cable into one of the 4 slots of the receptacle cover box. banana plug installation

4 – Connect the center wire from the power cable to the Ground power connection of the socket by bending the wire into a J shape(small hook?), slipping it around the screw, and tightening the screw. Do the same and connect the white wire to the neutral connection, and the black wire to the hot connection. banana plug installation

5 – Screw the receptacle back into the wall plate and replace the receptacle cover box and screw it down. banana plug installation

6 – Slide the power cable down the wall behind the sheet rock. banana plug installation

7 – Remove the snap on wall plate cover and place the top wall plate into the wall. This is easily done by sliding the top portion in at an angle to get the brackets behind the sheetrock and then sliding the bottom portion into place.

(Audio and Video cables can be dropped now to make it easier to feed, or after bottom plate is in place)

8 – Once the cables are in place, tighten the two screws on the front of the wall plate. The wings will extend to secure the top wall plate into place. banana plug installation

9 – Repeat steps 2-5 for the bottom wall plate. The only difference is that to attach the power cables to the power plug you must first turn all 3 screws all the way to the left to open the socket. Then insert each wire into the appropriate hole and tighten the screw to the right to secure each wire.

NOTE: Double check that each wire is installed in the correct place! If the wires are installed incorrectly it can result in permanent damage to your TV. Sewell Direct is not responsible for damage to people, property or electronics due to incorrect installation.

13 – Replace the front cover plate over both wall plates. banana plug installation
