  • I plan on using the linksys wireless adapter WUSB600N which consumes a max of 480 mA current consumption. My computer is in one area, and the only WIFI reception I can get is about 65 ft away. Will this USB/Cat5 extension provide enough power to work with the adapter? Do you have any recommendations?
    • This item should work for it, but these extenders only work at USB 1.1 speeds so it will limit the maximum speed of your connection. Common wifi is the 802.11g standard which runs a max of 54mbps. This adapter can only support a max speed of about 11mbps. If you want your connection to be faster than that, this will not be a good solution for you. As an alternative, i would recommend using our USB 2.0 Extension Cable with built in repeaters, 65.6 feet, part SW-8960.

  • I have a Lathem Time Clock that I would like to extend about 100 feet. Will this cable support the connection?
