Pros: Simple installation, dead easy from that respect.

Cons: Not a true RS-232 port. This is an expresscard to USB to RS232 adapter and does not behave the way a real serial port does. For simple serial tasks it works fine but for timing-sensitive tasks such as industrial motor control or temperature probe programming it fails miserably.

Other Comments: I was able to source a laptop with both an onboard serial port and an expresscard slot for testing. The "real" serial port worked fine, this card did not. SEWELL DIRECT NOTE: This adapter will install a virtual COMM port, which is compatible with most devices, but may not perform exactly like built-in serial port

Pros: Very Fast delivery will work with vista

Cons: Had to go to thier web site to get vista drivers can cause a little head ake but if you have some time to play with its ok still a little slow than a real serial 232 over all ok

Pros: I can now use my new laptop with it and get rid of my old laptop.

Cons: The driver that comes with express card does not work with Toshiba 305 series laptop. I had to download a driver for Vista from a different web site and it works twice as slow as the last card and laptop I had.

Other Comments: Just hoping the makers of the expresscard can make new updates to the expresscard like developing new drivers for Vista that will be faster.
