  • Description says no pc needed, but requirements say PC or Mac required. Which is true. Want something that only requires the monitor.
    • In order to use your monitor as a TV the tuner does not require a computer. The tuner does also have the ability to pass your computer video signal through to the monitor as well. The mention of a requirement of PC or Mac is specifying that, if you want to also hook a computer up to the monitor, it needs to have a VGA connection on it. Again, to just use the monitor as a TV, a computer is not required.

  • What type of connections are needed?
    • You will only need the VGA connection to the monitor, and an input from one of the video sources (Composite, RCA or S-Video) Audio can be run through the integrated speaker, or out to a set of external speakers with a 3.5mm jack.

    • Yes - the product comes with a built in switch to make it easy to go from your cable input to your computer and back.

  • I assume the TV tuner is a digital tuner capable of receiving HD signals? Is that correct?
    • This uses an analog NTSC tuner, it will not pick up HD signals.

  • Is the SW-4677 compatable with a wireless 5.8 GHz surveillance receiver and camera (Not sure of the manufacturer for part# SBASC4220)? Plus can the SW-4677 be used with a portable DVD player, utilizing the screen of the DVD player?
    • If the surveillance reciever outputs a composite video signal over the yellow RCA jack then this will work. If the portable DVD player's screen has a VGA input then it will work.
