Easily connect your firewire peripherals to your ExpressCard slot. ExpressCard technology is different than PCMCIA because it has an increased transfer rate and better efficiency between the computer and external peripherals. ExpressCards will only work with ExpressCard slots and are not compatible with PCMCIA.
This ExpressCard benefits you with 2 firewire slots. One is 9 pin and the other is 6 pin to best match your accessories. You can use different cables to match your particular firewire peripheral depending on what you need. This card gives you the flexibility to match either 9-pin or 6-pin. With the firewire 800 protocol you can get transfer rates of 100, 200, 400, and 800 Mbps.
