Hi, I have a HP lazerJet4 printer that I just love and am having trouble getting the computer to recognize the cable or the printer. I tried the step 7 above with no notice on my computer at all. I really wanted this to work, but I do not know what steps to take next. Is there a printer driver that I can install that will work? And where can I download it? thanks

You can see if the cable itself is being recognized in the (Windows) Device manager. Under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers it will install as "USB printer support." If you do not see that, there is likely a problem with the cable (or possibly your USB ports) You can return the cable for testing and a replacement or refund.
