I have a Dell 1700 printer (USB cable). I would like to connect it to a nearby ethernet wall outlet so that it can ultimately be connected to a router located near a linked ethernet wall outlet in the closet of another room. Can I use the remote portion of this product to connect the printer to the ethernet wall outlet (in the same room as the printer) using a cat5 patch cable? The connection would be as follows: (printer, room A) ->>- (remote portion of USB extender, room A) ->>- (cat5 patch cable, room A) ->>- (ethernet wall connection, room A) ->>-(cat5 patch cable from a linked ethernet wall connection, room B) ->>- (router, room B)

This adapter requires both the sending and recieving units, with a single patch cable in between. What you would need is a print server like our SW-8039
