I think I know the answer but will ask anyway, will it work with ps3 and XP computer with external HD?

First off, this switch will only work with computers because they require software to be installed on each computer that is connected to the switch. Second, this box will only automatically share a printer. All other devices are shared manually through the software. You should be able to accomplish that task manually using a manual USB share switch. That will work as long as the hard drive works fine with each of those devices directly.
