Customer Question

I have a sony vaio laptop with GeForce Go 7600, but I do not have a DVI or any digital output, only a VGA and S-Video. Would this item allow me to connect to my HDTV? playing movies on it? or is there any other alternatives? Sony actually sells a dock station for my laptop, and it connects to the bottom of the laptop so im assuming since it is not USB connection, then it would be connected directly to the motherboard, and it provides DVI-D output, USb blah blah, I can even connect a 2.5" HDD to it, but it stated clearly that I cannot use the default Intel display card, but I chose Geforce go 7600 when I bought this, so I am guessing my card is actually capable to output digital signal? or else how could the dock simply adding a DVI-D output allows me to output digital?

Sewell Direct Answer

This belkin dock runs completely independently from your internal video card. The dock is it's own video card. It supports up to 1600x1200 resolution so it would not be able to run a 1080p signal, but would do 720p. Since the video card is not dependent on your built in video card this unit can output a digital signal regardless of what your other video card is capable of.
