Pros: If it's what you need, it works Cons: If it's not what you need, prepare yourself to go thru the hassle of repacking, getting an RMA, paying for return shipping with insurance, and forfeiting your original shipping costs Other Comments: Being computer illiterate, (and having major difficulty with my USB ports of late), I called HP to ask about getting the purple and green adaptors so I could plug in my USB-cabled Mouse and Keyboard in their designated ports.
Well... HP doesn't carry those adaptors anymore. The Rep said I would need to go to a computer-type store and ask for a "USB to PS2" adaptor. So, I come to this store, see the green and purple adaptors, and purchase them. And, of course, they don't work. Apparently, I need one with a 'female' USB slot?
And had to pack the whole thing up, get an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and pay to ship it back. I lost my initial shipping costs because, when you come right down to it, I purchased the wrong thing. So, the whole thing has been a complete waste of time and money. Needless to say, I won't be shopping at this store anymore.
However, if you're here and wanting to buy these kinds of adaptors, make sure what you're buying. If you have a Mouse or Keyboard that has a USB cable plug on the end of it, and you want to plug it into the green or purple designated port in the back of the machine, then this IS NOT the adaptor for you. You need an adaptor like this one Sewell offers (USB female to PS2 male),http://tinyurl.com/55b6zp, that will allow you to plug the USB cable plug into it, and then plug the whole magilla into the designated port in the back of the machine.
