  • can i use this tv tuner in the car? and if i could how many channels i can recieve? thanks.
    • You would need a UHF/VHF antenna in (or on) the car. Reception would vary depending on location and positioning of the car/antenna.

  • Hi! What options to I have for receiving TV channels on my new Phillips LCD TV ? I have a lap top with Windows Vista that is usually located in the same room as the TV Is there are way to receive TV on the laptop and then send it to the TV? The TV has a USB outlet. I need lots of help with the hardware part of this. Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
    • The best PC to TV solution depends a lot on what kinds of connections your TV and computer have. If your computer and TV both have VGA ports the best solution is simply a VGA cable. If your computer has DVI or HDMI on it and your TV has HDMI on it you can simply use a cable to go from one to the other. If your computer has VGA and your TV has component i would recommend the PC to HDTV converter, part SW-4280. That item will convert the VGA signal to an HD component signal for use on your HDTV. Another option would be to go from the VGA port on the laptop to the HDMI port on the TV. You could use an analog to digital signal converter like the DVI to HDMI cable to go from the scaler to the TV.

  • can I use this to convert a computer monitor with VGA, HDMI and DVI-D inputs to a TV that will capture off the air signals in US after conversion to digital in US?
    • This item will allow you to use the VGA input on a computer monitor and display TV on that monitor. This item is an NTSC tuner, which means it only accepts the analog over-the-air channels. After the switch to digital broadcasts next year it will still work with cable TV, but it will no longer be able to receive over-the-air broadcast channels.
