802.11g
802.11g is the most popular wireless standard because of its transfer speeds and range. It uses a 2.4GHz band that allows it to send signals farther than typical 802.11b. With the “g” standard you can transfer at rates up to 54Mbps which is 5 times faster than the “b” standard. One of the great advantages of 802.11g is that it is backwards compatible with 802.11b. This is a great feature so you don't have to throw out your older equipment to match this router's signal.
This Access Point also acts as a router. It includes DHCP support to create its own network. This allows you to share your ethernet signals among others without having to authoririze every individual on the original network.
