  • My HDTV only has one HDMI port(which is taken by the connection to the Satellite box. I also want to hook up my DVD player to the HDTV. Woula HDMI male to two HDMI Females be what I need??? Thanks.
    • This cable is designed only to split the signal to 2 HDTV's. It will not let you connect 2 devices to 1 HDTV. In order to do this you will need an HDMI switch instead of a splitter. You can find many of the HDMI Switches that we carry here: HDMI Switches

  • I have read in a couple of reviews that this splitter doesn't produce sound. I'm looking to hook up my XBOX and my Plasma TV from the DVR Cable Source with one cable going to the T.V. to alleviate having to constantly unplug one to use the other. Is this a fair review assessment or does the splitter produce sound as well?
    • This splitter does have a number of bugs. I would recommend the SW-8876. It is an easy to use switch that will let you not have to unplug any cables (you just click the button to switch from the DVR to the XBOX and back).

  • I would like to connect the computer HDMI to a monitor and to a stereo receiver/amplifier. I want to send sound to the amp and picture to the monitor. Will this unit work for that?
    • Yes, that should work.

  • I have a Sony STR-DG720 reciver for my home theater set-up. My HDTV only has componite video inputs and a DVI input. I did not know at the time of purchase the if you use a HDMI-DVI cable from the reciver to the television the reciver will not process any audio. So my question is will this work to connect a HDMI cable to my reciver to send the audio/video and also send the HDMI-DVI cable to my TV for the video? The only reason that I am asking is because I saw a question on this site where someone had stated that there might be a problem with this cable sending audio. It would be used as so: ............|---Female end-HDMI-reciver PS3-Male end ............|---Female end-HDMI/DVI-television
    • This cable does send the same signal out of both ports. Because the splitter is just a cable and not an active splitter there is a chance you will experience some signal loss. This could result in a lack of audio with some equipment. I would recommend using an actual repeater/splitter like the Accell HDMI 1:2 splitter, part SW-8702.

  • i just bought a sony bravia surround sound system. the system came with three hdmi inputs and one hdmi output (supposedly for the tv). there is an input for the cable box, a dvd player, and a bluray player. i am using a ps3 for a bluray player, there is only one hdmi slot on the ps3. would this splitter work to use with the ps3 and the surround sound together? i believe so because i drew a map and it only seems logical.
    • This cable does split the HDMI signal, but since it is just a cable the signal strength is cut in half to do so. If you would like to make sure that you preserve a good signal to both your TV and your surround system you'll need to use an active HDMI splitter like the Accell HDMI 1:2 splitter, part SW-8702.
